Michael, we knew we were eachother's sold mates from the beginning. The love you had for me was incredible. I always prayed to God that I was so fortunate to have the perfect family. I never took that love for granted and I am so thankful for the years you blessed mine and Austin's life.
Your memory will be kept alive with stories that can be shared with all of your friends and family.

For those that were unable to attend the memorial service Monday evening for our dear friend Mike I am posting the words I spoke at his service. One of my best friends Lori was his wife and I was honored to have been able to speak on his behalf. He was loved by many and will be definitely missed. RIP MIKE!!
HI, for those that do not know me, my name is Joy. I am one of Lori's best friends. I met Lori about 7 years ago when I moved to Jacksonville. She was my first friend here. I have seen her go through ups and downs, but when she met Mike her whole world changed. She had finally discovered that missing void we all strive to fill in our lives. I was so glad to see her so happy. I knew Mike before they met, but felt I had gained a new great friend when he came into her life. He cared about me because he cared about her. He became her everything, her best friend, her husband, a father figure for her son Austin, a perfect son-in law to her parents, her soul mate. If only we could all be so lucky to find this. Such a beautiful family. A life cut way too short. Who knows why such horrible things happen to such good people. We like to think there is a reason behind it all, but it still does not make things like this easier. Life is never fair. In the blink of an eye everything can change, so forgive often and love with all your heart. You never know when you may not have that chance again.
The human spirit is the most powerful force in this world. It is something that no one destroys. If you do not let it be distinguished it will carry you through. Mike's spirit indeed remains everywhere in all of us. It is always easier to leave than be left. Love is stronger than loss. With Lori's nickname actually being Love this loss will not break her. No love, no friendship can cross the path of our destiny without leaving some mark on it forever. There are people we meet in life that make everything seem magical. Mike was one of these people. He had a huge heart, an infectious smile, and a kind soul. He will be cherished by all of us. May he continue to help guide and illuminate our journeys.
My sincerest and heartfelt condolences to Mike's entire family.
