Michael Leroy Forney

Michael Leroy Forney was born in Greenville, North Carolina, on September 28, 1943, to Margaret Forney and the late John Twitty. He peacefully passed away on December 9, 2025, in Baltimore, Maryland, at the age of 82.
Michael was a devoted and powerful influence on all who had the privilege of knowing him. His genuine smile and straightforward manner made it clear if he liked you. He was truly a force of nature, teaching those around him the true value and power of life.
Raised by a loving family that later settled in Rutherfordton, North Carolina, Michael's closest companion was his brother, the late Horace Eugene Forney. At 17, Michael followed his brother to Baltimore, Maryland, where he lived with his aunt and began working at Diamond Cab Company. There, he honed his skills as a mechanic and towing expert, building a life grounded in hard work, dedication, and perseverance.
Michael was a loving husband to the late Diane Jean Forney and a devoted father to Tonya Lorraine Forney, Michael Eugene Forney, and the late Marquis Michael Forney. He is also survived by his niece and nephew, Shurron Forney and Vincent Forney, along with many great-nieces and great-nephews. His legacy continues through his six beloved grandchildren: Autumn Michal Forney, Daniel Michael Forney, Aubrey Michele Forney, Tempest Archibong, and twins Maddox and Maejor Forney.
As we witness the sunset of his earthly journey, we give thanks to God for the gift of Michael Leroy Forney. His legacy lives on, carried in the hearts of his family and all those he touched. We rejoice in knowing that Michael held strong to his faith and will forever be smiling down on all those he loved.
