Michael Gene Fountain, 70, of Anderson, passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at Northview Health and Living in Anderson following an extended illness.
He was born on May 15, 1955, in Noblesville, Indiana to Walter Gene and Lou Ann (Murfin) Fountain.
He was a 1973 graduate of Lapel High School. He retired from the Madison County Surveyor's Office as a civil drafter. He then went on to work for Insight Engineering where he finished his career.
He was a member of Perkinsville Community Church. He loved watching The Ohio State University football. He also enjoyed watching Indy car races. He loved his family, especially his daughter, Mika. He also loved his dog.
Michael is survived by a daughter, Mika (husband, Corey) Lawson; his cousins, Gary (wife, Cindy) Hiday, Donna (husband, Mike) Lawther and Amanda (husband, Landon) Paddock; and special friends, Rob and Lorrie Kashmer.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two cousins, Jeremiah Martin and Joshua Martin; and his aunt, Betty Hiday.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at Bozell Funeral Homes, Lapel Chapel, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel, Indiana 46051 with Pastor Nathan McDade officiating. Cremation will take place.
Visitation will be from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lapel Stony Creek Fire Territory, 8871 West 200 South, Lapel, Indiana 46051.
