It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Andrew Fowler. Born on July 1, 1939 in Faribault, MN. His family lived in Morristown and Litchfield before they settled in Tonka Bay where Michael attended Minnetonka High School. He played on the football, basketball and baseball teams. During this time his interest in engineering emerged and he decided to attend the University of Minnesota where he studied structural and civil engineering. His life was dedicated to his structural engineering career which culminated in starting his own Engineering and Architectural firm with his friend and mentor, Jack Hanley. For many years the firm operated, working on local, national and international projects, including the design and
renovation of office towers, arenas and casinos. Mike also worked many years at Clark Engineering where he became a partner. He enjoyed softball and golfing, Tetris, Saga Klubben, The Monte Carlo, The Beach Boys and a stiff rum and coke. He had a special place in his heart for the Dominican Republic and Ft. Myers, FL.
Michael Andrew Fowler, Sr. is survived by his long-time
partner, Sandy Parsley, his children, Sydney Johnson, Michael Fowler, Jr.
(Patricia Peltier), Rob Fowler (Beth Carlson) and Alexandra Fowler (Jon
Black); and his grandchildren, Avery Mueller (Sam), Jake Johnson, Ryan
Fowler, Catherine Fowler, and Milo Black.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Special Olympics MN. He will be
remembered for his dedication to work, his love of dogs, and his laughter at a good Ole and Lena joke.

I knew Mike mainly through his partner, Sandy Parsley. He was an avid golfer and a very affable and friendly fellow. He will be missed by many. Mary Malberg
