Mike & I worked out for years at the Garland & Ricardson gyms. It was early before work but we made it happen for years. We also fished together while talking trash. Mike will truly be missed but never forgotten. My condolences to the Gaiter family. Love always!

In Memory of Michael Craig "Puff" Gaiter, our last physical time spent together was when he visited Colorado a few yrs ago, Mike, Ken Mays and I had lunch and shared lots of laughs and memories of our youth early twenties and beyond. We've all known each other since Whittier Elementary, Puff as we called him extremely talented in Football, Track and Martial Arts, we didn't spend much time attending Jr High but reunited when he decided to transfer to East High for the last yr 1/2 I was honored when he asked me to be in his and Pam's wedding, Beautiful wedding and a Great time, they truly loved each other. We always kept in touch and regardless of anything going on he always stayed positive, so with that I can say they had a BLESSED life together and Mike was extremely proud of Gabrielle and Daunte and their accomplishments. I'll miss my Friend my Brother but, we'll see each other on the Sunnyside in Heaven RIH "Puff"

Pamela, Gabby and Daunte, I am so very sorry for your loss, it´s hard for me to fathom life without Big Mike around. Mike was many things to me for the past 25 years, but the most important thing was being a good friend. Whether crappie fishing all night on the boat at Lake Lavon, or trying to find the best seafood and catfish joint at all the code hearing locations across the country we went to over the years, or working out at the gym during lunch when we worked together or talking football whenever we could, you were my friend.

Mike Gaiter was someone who projected a real sense of self-confidence and assurance, without coming across as arrogant or dismissive of others and he always managed to provide spot-on and dependable advice when I or anyone for that matter needed it. His faith and moral compass were absolutely second to none.

For me, Mike Gaiter´s legacy is strong, someone once said "Carve your name on hearts, not tombstones. A legacy is etched into the minds of others and the stories they share about you." , I will truly miss you my brother, rest in peace!

Someone said Mike Gaiter is here... Naw couldn´t be the Mike Gaiter I knew because he was at George Washington High and this is East. Then I saw him it was Mike `Puff´ Gaiter - Man I thought you were at George I said - I´m here now he replied. Wow I thought now we would finally have a winning football team. I never got to play on the field with him but saw him almost daily at school - and when I saw his name on the list to vote for Homecoming King it was a `No Brainer´ who I was going to vote for! Yes he was our Homecoming King and well deserved. Mike was not only a friend, he was like a brother. He also was leader and a mentor. I will miss him dearly but my memories of him will last forever. I will see you again soon "Puff"!

I'm heartbroken to hear of the passing of my childhood friend. Though we hadn´t seen each other in years, the memories from our early days remain ensconced and dear to me. I´m proud of the legacy he built, a life that touched many and left a lasting mark.

Rest In Power, my friend. With warmth and respect, Paris Sherman.

Wow... so very sad to hear this. "Puff" as we called him East High teammates and neighbor friends since 1973. I still live in Denver and when I drive by his old house I always think about him. He was a great athlete and great friend. My prays go out to the family. Class of 78 Patrick O'Malley
