Gamache, Michael S.
CLIFTON PARK - Michael S. Gamache, a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend, spread his wings after a courageous battle with cancer, on November 16, 2025. Born in Niskayuna, N.Y., on September 8, 1972, to his late parents Arthur "Phil" and Diane (Simone) Gamache, Michael was raised in Glenville, with his sister, Barbara Potter (Richard), and brother, Philip Gamache. The Gamache's spent memorable time at their Sacandaga Lake camp, where Mike's passion for adventure, boating, and fishing flourished. He'd share his passion of the outdoors with his wife, Colleen (Lynch), of 29 years, and sons, Carter and Cole. Mike was a family man, enjoying gatherings with his beloved Aunt Dot Rossetti (Daniel), mother-in-law Donna Lynch, sisters-in-law Eileen Updyke (Pete), Julie Connors (Bob), brother-in-law Bob Lynch, along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Mike was a proud 1990 graduate of Scotia-Glenville High School, where he excelled on the football field and basketball court, continuing his basketball career at Norwich University, where he combined his lifelong creativity, interest in design and building with an Architecture degree. After graduating, Mike established a legacy career at one Architecture firm: formerly JD Smith Architecture, Smith Pollard Architects, currently Re4orm Architecture. His contributions to visionary design and dedication to the profession has his fingerprint embedded throughout the Capital District landscape for over two decades.
Mike's pride and joy was spending time with family and friends during summers on Sacandaga Lake, vacations on the Cape, and winters on the ski slopes when hockey permitted. He lit up cheering on the boys during many a weekends of hockey and soccer over the years. Always the behind the scenes "dad coach" off the rink and field, lifting up the boys, yet always challenging them to do their best in everything they do in life.
Mike's passion for the golf game exploded, loved competing in tournaments at the Edison Club, where the family were longtime members, and anywhere he could tee up with buddies. A loyal friend who quietly led by example and a high personal standard, "Moody" maintained lifelong relationships with his Norwich teammates and childhood friends from Scotia, especially the fantasy football league, in which he reveled and competed for over 25 years.
Calling hours for Michael will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd., Glenville. A funeral service will follow at 12 p.m., at the funeral home.
