Michael John Gazdik

Michael John Gazdik, Sr., 82, passed away on January 14, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by family at his residence on the same street in Endicott, NY where he grew up bringing his life full circle in a place filled with memories and meaning.

Mike was a lifelong summer resident of the St. Lawrence River on Indian Point Road.

Born on November 19, 1943, Michael was a proud 1961 graduate of Union-Endicott High School.

Shortly after graduation, he honorably served in the United States Navy from 1961 to 1963, stationed aboard the USS Betelgeuse.

After completing his military service, Michael built a long and fulfilling career in construction. An avid outdoorsman, Michael found joy in hunting, trapping, and fishing throughout the seasons. Some of his happiest moments were spent in the 1000 Islands on The River, where he cherished summers surrounded by family, nature, and the water he loved.

Starting out his summers as a young man on Seminole Island, he eventually built a magnificent cottage nearby on Indian Point Road that his family will continue to be stewards of.

Michael is survived by his three children: Michelle Gazdik (Shawn), Heather Gazdik, and Michael Gazdik, Jr. (Alicia); his former-wife, Judy Gazdik; his brother, Charles Gazdik; his sister, Jeanne Bowen (John).

His greatest joys were his cherished grandchildren: Maxim, Mariana, and Christian. He also adored his beloved grand-dog, Clover, who brought him endless comfort and companionship.

Michael was predeceased by his parents, Mary and John Gazdik, and his sister, Carol.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026 from 4pm to 6pm at the Thomas J. Shea Funeral Home, Inc. Funeral services and burial with Military Honors will be private.
