Michael Giannattasio, a dedicated electrical engineer and a cherished member of his family, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2025, in Patchogue, New York. He was born on September 23, 1949, in Queens, New York, and lived a life filled with accomplishments, joy, and a deep love for his family.
A proud alumnus, Michael obtained his master's degree, which laid the foundation for a successful career as an electrical engineer at LILCO. His professional life was marked by commitment and expertise, earning him respect among colleagues and peers alike.
Outside of his professional pursuits, Michael was a multifaceted individual who embraced various passions. He had a profound love for dogs, which enriched his life with companionship and joy. Gardening and painting allowed him to express his creativity, while carpentry became a beloved hobby that showcased his craftsmanship. He also found pleasure in watching movies and engaging in shooting, hobbies that contributed to the well-rounded person he was.
Michael is survived by his son, Michael Andrew Giannattasio, and his daughter, Morgan Giannattasio, and her husband Aaron Oringer. He joins his beloved wife Lorraine, and his parents Edward and Marie Giannattasio, who precede him in death.
A visitation service to honor Michael's life will be held on October 16, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Mangano Family Funeral Home of Middle Island, located at 640 Middle Country Rd, Middle Island, NY 11953.
Michael Giannattasio will be remembered for his loving spirit, dedication to his profession, and the warmth he brought to all those around him. He leaves behind treasured memories that will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.
