Michael Gross

Didn´t realize that "your" Michael died the same day "my" Mike had 4 years earlier. A sad but full of the good memories day to remember on Tuesday and every day. Mike and I loved being at 4Cs with him.

As a colleague at 4Cs (through the Suffolk University program based there), Michael was a joy to know. There are few people who could raise one´s spirits just by passing them in the hall and saying hi - and Michael was one! My husband Mike and I had a wonderful time at Michael´s retirement party, and sadly that was the last time we saw each other in person; but I loved keeping in touch via Facebook and was so glad to share in his happiness upon his marriage and after. Gone far too soon - but the memories won´t fade and will not be forgotten. Condolences to his family - RIP Michael.

So many memories of Michael, as a musician, friend, colleague and more. Played many gigs with Michael and for five years we held down Sunday nights at the Black Rock Grille in Yarmouth with our group Naked Jazz. Mike was always kind, giving and full of energy. He was also a good friend, always ready to give you his shirt off his back if you asked. One of the most amazing things I saw him do was when we did "West Side Story" in Bourne in the late 90's. The drummer had a car accident in between the first and second week of the show and we had to find someone who could come in and basically sightread this very difficult show. Mike got the call and on 2 -3 days notice, he worked and played his butt off and kept the show going and was amazing. That was Mike, always ready to step in, and help out and contribute. His presence in music, at CCCC and elsewhere elevated those around him and he changed and influenced many lives. He will be missed. Peace and love to the family.
