I just finished reading Mr Grünbaum's memoir, written in the present tense, for young adults. I am sorry to learn that I found it, sitting on a community bookshelf in a BHA apt bldg, just a year after his death.
I wish I had the opportunity to meet him in person, & thank him, for sharing his story of that long nightmare.
I will share this book, & try to live up to the ideals of his "house of boys".

Michael Gruenbaum discussed his experiences in Terezin at a Zoom meeting of the Czech and Slovak Heritage Association of Maryland in January 2023. His presentation and the books by him and his wife were really inspiring. My condolences to his family.

My heartfelt condolences to the Gruenbaum family. Michael was a thoughtful, warm, caring person. He would visit my parents Edgar and Hana, also Terezin Survivors, often. Michael was the driving force behind my father receiving a certificate from the Governor recognizing my father's efforts to raise awareness of the holocaust. Michael enjoyed stopping by their home to chat and have coffee. He was an amazing person to be able to survive the holocaust and have such a meaningful life. I will miss him very much.
