Michael Hager Obituary
01/30/1943 - 12/12/2025
Born in San Francisco, Mike graduated from high school in Corbett, Oregon, and college from the University of Oregon. He was a gifted architect known for his exquisite hand-drawn blueprints. Mike left a lasting impact through his service in the Peace Corps in Honduras and a long career in San Francisco.
With his life partner, David McCauley, of over 42 years, he made history by marrying on the first day same-sex marriage was legalized in San Francisco. They shared a love for global travel and many joyful years at their Sierra Nevada retreat, "Dos Amigos."
Mike is preceded in death by his siblings Robin and Janene. He is survived by his husband, David; his siblings Timothy and Iva Jo; and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
Memorial: Jan. 30, 3-5 PM at Mike and David's home. Call for more details: 503-358-5810.
