Michael J. Hamas

Michael J. Hamas age 76 of Dixon passed away on Sunday Dec. 3, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on Feb. 15, 1947 in Streator, IL the son of Albert F. "Beano" and Elsie (Engelkes) Hamas. Michael was a labor supervisor for Shappert Engineering for over 35 years prior to his retirement. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the Dixon Elks Club. Michael married Paulette Garcia Rodriguez on Nov. 15, 1986 in Dixon, IL. He is preceded in death by his parents and step daughter Nadine Lynn Hamas. Michael is survived by his wife Paulette, son Matthew Hamas of Phoenix AZ, grandchildren Mason Hamas, Madison Hamas, stepchildren Joe (Bonnie) Rodriguez of Dixon, step grandchildren Erika (Josh Smith) Jurechka, Sydney Rodriguez, Ryne (Brey) Rodriguez, Jacelyn (Alex Eckhardt) Rodriguez, Griffey (Ashley "Red" Crawford) Rodriguez, step great grandchildren Seven, Cypher, Shaolin, Amyrical, Fenley, and Archie. He is also survived by his brother Richard "Dick" Hamas of Byron, and sister Joan Lys of Prescott Valley AZ. Cremation rites have been accorded with no service at this time.
