Michael Harmon Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Charter Funeral Home on Sep. 19, 2025.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Michael "Kaiser" Harmon, who left this world on April 5, 2025, at the age of 19. Kaiser, a beloved son, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend, touched the lives of many with his larger-than-life and witty personality, his infectious smile, and his heart of gold. Kaiser's kindness and loyalty could be seen in his ability to bring in the stranger and make them a good friend. He was the only child of Michael and Melany Harmon, but to those who knew him, he was always surrounded and loved by a band of brothers, extended family, and a deeply caring community. His parents are so proud of him and love him so dearly.
Kaiser was born on March 15, 2006, and spent his early years growing up in the heart of the community. He attended Montevallo Methodist Preschool, and later, he thrived at Evangel Classical Christian School from 4K through 9th grade, finishing his high school years at Evangel Christian School. He had a passion for life that was evident in everything he did-from his hobbies and friendships to the volunteer work he cherished.
Kaiser's love for the outdoors was unmatched. Whether it was fishing, hunting (a passion first introduced to him by his Papa), ATV riding, pickleball, or soccer, Kaiser was always at home in nature. He enjoyed going on hunting trips, attending sporting events, truck club, and going to country music concerts with friends. His time with the AFC Alabaster Soccer Club and Evangel Junior Varsity soccer team allowed him to form lifelong friendships and memories. He was always quick to laugh, share a story, tell a joke, and, of course, never met a car or truck he didn't like. Kaiser had a special love for driving, whether it was hauling a trailer or taking the wheel of a big truck.
His family and friends knew him as someone who lived for adventure, but also for the relationships that were created during these adventures. He was involved in Trail Life, Evangel Youth Ministry, and Burly Man Bible Study. He also volunteered at Church of the Apostles VBS and Evangel Soccer Camp. Kaiser's strong faith and service to others were a testament to his character.
Kaiser's love for life extended to his favorite places. Yearly trips with his family to the Gulf Coast were among his most cherished memories. The time spent with cousins will forever be remembered. Another favorite spot was Wyoming, where he spent time with his aunts, uncles, and cousins hunting, fishing, and exploring Indian teepee ruins.
Kaiser's life was tragically cut short, but his memory will live on in the hearts of his parents, Michael and Melany, his grandmother, Marsha, his aunts and uncles, Heather (Blake), Leigh Ann (Ryan), Staci (Jake), Peter, Leslie (Curt), Laurie (Sean), and his many cousins. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather Sidney and paternal grandparents Darrell, and Leslie.
Kaiser's laughter, joy, and love for life will forever be missed, but his legacy of kindness, adventure, and a heart of gold will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.
