Michael Lloyd Haskins
Michael Lloyd “Mike” Haskins, 65, Passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS. Visitation will be 5-7pm Friday June 21, 2019 and 10am Saturday June 22, 2019 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Funeral Services will be 11am Saturday June 22, 2019 in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow in New Home Cemetery in Simpson County.
Mike’s career started as a City of Pearl, MS firefighter, next he became the City Fire Marshall, then studied fire investigation in Washington DC. He worked as an EMT with Rankin EMS, then evolved into several job scopes in the Medical supply field and lived in states of TN, MD, VA, NJ GA & TX. Later returned to MS and joined the Pelahatchie Police Dept. in 2007 and retired from that role in 2016.
Survivors include his mother, Inez Haskins Neely; adopted son, John Stewart; brothers, David Haskins (Jay), Steve Haskins (Lisa) and sister, Cindy Russell; grandchildren, Justin Stewart and Logan Gross; nieces and nephews, Gregory, Brandy, Steffanie, Amy, Matthew, Jonathan, Daniel and Jenna; and several great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Lloyd Haskins and step father, Arthur Neely.
