Michael Paul Hedeman

Michael (Mike) Hedeman 62 off Prairie du Chien WI, born on Aug 22nd, 1960, to the late Gerald & Jackie Hedeman, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Aug 7th, 2023, at Soldiers Grove Health Service, Soldiers Grove WI after a long & difficult illness. Mike and his family were longtime community members of Prairie du Chien, WI. He attended the Prairie du Chien school district until he graduated in 1979. He was a great football player & was given the MVP award as well as being involved in other sports throughout his high school career. He enjoyed throughout the years jobs as a chef in several area restaurants, worked with the movie theater business & also True Value in the rental department. Mike was an avid deer, turkey and pheasant hunter and fisherman with a special love for trout fishing but let's face it, who are we kidding, just about anything that grabbed his fishing line put a smile on his face! He took his lifelong secret fishing spots with him to heaven & we are sure he's finally sharing them with Jesus. Following decades of alcoholism & addiction, Mike recently found peace with the Lord & we know Monday morning Jesus welcomed him with open arms as he laid his burdens & diseases at his feet. His favorite scripture was Psalms 23. Mike is survived by his 3 children Kyle (Gabriela) Hedeman, Samantha Hedeman and Brett Hedeman that he shared with his ex-wife, friend and confidant Jamie (Lynn) Wagar, his 5 beautiful grandchildren Ela, James and Eliana Hedeman, Everly and Emmett Stluka, his sister Karla (Curt) Troester, his brothers Robin (Lori) Hedeman, Steve (Mary) Hedeman and his many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins & many lifelong friends & school mates. He is preceded in death by his parents, maternal & paternal grandparents, a sister & nephews.
Garrity Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements on Saturday Aug 12th with visitation from 1-4pm with a short memorial service following in the Garrity chapel. Interment will be at a later date with a private family ceremony. In lieu of flowers please bless Mike's children with memorials to assist with his funeral expenses. Luncheon to follow service at 900 Cliffhaven Drive, Prairie du Chien WI.
