Michael John Hemrich Sr.

1958 - 2022

Michael J. Hemrich Sr., 64, of Mechanicsville, VA passed away on December 3, 2022 at home surrounded by his family.
Michael J. Hemrich was born in Chicago, IL, son of Charles and Jayne Hemrich. His childhood was spent in Deerfield and Lake Forest, Illinois. Mike graduated from Lake Forest High School, enlisted with the US Air Force for four years, then earned his bachelor's degree in marketing from Southern Illinois University. Upon graduating from college, Mike moved back to California. After several years out west, he returned to the Midwest to marry and start a family with Vicki in Grayslake, Illinois. Following the demands of his work, Mike and his family moved to Fairfax, Virginia where they lived happily for 17 years. With the kids grown and launched, Mike and Vicki decided to move to Mechanicsville to start the next chapter of their lives.
Mike was a kind, generous, fun-loving, goofy, creative and hardworking individual, but he was most passionate about his family. He always put his family's needs first and went out of his way to give his children the best life possible. He loved to make everyone in his life smile and laugh. Mike was highly regarded for his extensive knowledge of SAP and its expansive applications. As a consultant, Mike was blessed to work with a wide variety of coworkers from many different organizations, many of whom became dear friends. While Mike's favorite thing was spending time with his family, he also loved being outdoors whether it be in the mountains or on the beach.
Survivors include: his wife, Vicki (nee Karner); children, Kirsten (Nathan Maizels) Hemrich, Michael (Haley Schreiner) Hemrich Jr., Kyra Hemrich; mother, Jayne Hemrich; mother-in-law, Barbara Karner; his siblings, Debbie (Mark) Ramirez, Bill (Cyndi) Hemrich, Tim (Colinne) Hemrich, Nancy Hemrich, John Karner; nieces and nephews, Emily Hemrich, Charlie Hemrich, Elizabeth Hemrich, Kate (Adam) McArdle, Andrew Ramirez, Joey (Bianca Flowers) Karner, Alexis (John Fultz III) Karner, Kelsey Karner; and his beloved pups, Zoey and Wilson. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Hemrich Sr; his father-in-law, Alan Karner; brother, Charles Hemrich Jr., and brother-in-law, Mark Karner.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:30am on December 21, 2022 at Calvary Congregational UCC, 1511 Wilmot Ave, Twin Lakes, WI 53181. Viewing will be from 10:00–11:30am prior to the service. Interment will be private.
