Michael Anthony Hernandez

Hernandez, Michael Anthony was born to Eternal Life December 23, 2025 at the age of 65.

Beloved Husband of Barbara E Hernandez (nee Jacklin); loving Father of his daughter, Erin E Cooper (nee Bence); proud Grandfather of Kennedy Cooper and Mason Cooper; dear Brother of Steven (Marisel A) Hernandez, Joy A Hernandez, and Mario Rodriguez; appreciative Brother-in-law of George E Jacklin and John J Jacklin; and Son of Grace E Sanchez (nee Gomez) and Jesse L Hernandez.

Michael is also survived by his Tia Marge and Tia Shirley; Niece, Lauren; Nephews, Michael and Steven; and many loved cousins and their children.

He is further survived by the loving and caring church family of Oakwood Church.

Michael is a devoted follower of The Lord and King, Jesus Christ. Michael accepted Jesus as his personal Savior and the Lord of his life. He strived to be the man of God that the Lord intended. He thrived as a servant of the Lord sharing his love and encouragement together with the gospel.

Michael and Barbara celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary on 12-16-25. They had met at the Zablocki VA Medical Center. They were devoted to each other, shared in their faith and both took delight in expressing themselves using the precision of words. Michael’s lifetime vocation was to be a prolific writer of poetry, essays and short stories. He is published, with more to come.

Michael has a unique God given capacity to connect with compassion to the elderly, children, and people in need or struggling in their life. He was a steadfast intercessor and prayer warrior. He had an enjoyable, sometimes surprising, sense of humor.

Michael is a proud Army veteran. He was a medical specialist trained as a combat medic and stationed in South Korea.

Michael will be deeply missed and warmly remembered by those who knew him.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on February 14, 2026                                                                                                                                         at Oakwood Church, located at 3041 Oakwood Road Hartland, WI 53029 (262 367-1212)                                                                                         Memorial Gathering to start at 10:00AM and the Service at 10:30AM (approximately 45 minutes)                                                                    Luncheon for all will follow at 12 Noon at the church.
