I am sorry Mike passed away. He was a great guy that I knew him when I met him at East High School.

Mike was one of the best conversationalists of all time. He never dominated a conversation, but he had the BEST stories to tell. He kept us all enthralled. One time a group of us were all together and Mike started talking about a man in whose lungs they had found a tree growing. We all moaned! "No way!", serveral of us exclaimed. Mike just calmly kept telling the story and naming his source. We were so sure he was pulling our legs--not that that was typical for him. We protested the likelihood of such a thing happening while he assured us it was true. We laughed and went on with our evening only to find out the next day every word was true. Mike had great stories and they were all true! Chris and I have such fond memories of him and will miss him greatly.

Shana.
I'm so sorry to hear about Mike. He was always fun to talk to at Parent/Teacher Conferences. I'm sure I'd be stunned at the way you and your girls have changed. It's been a long time since I taught at Canyon Rim, but I remember you and your darling family.

I'm feeling a lot of sadness right now as I am sure you all are, while also feeing a lot of gratitude and appreciation for the Heyn family. I love you Uncle Mike.I remember coming to your house when I was little and he would always give me access to special candy and always made me feel special. He pushed me in the swing, or threw the football with me. I haven't met many people that are as kind as Mike. I seriously don't think he had a bad bone in his body. I miss seeing his smile. It always made my day better. Even when he started to struggle with his memory, he would smile. I remember watching movies and trying his "super spicy" snack mix! His magic tricks at Grandpa Vern's house were mind blowing. I wish I could be there with you guys during this time, but I'll be there with you in spirit!
You guys should be so proud of the father/husband you have. I love you all. Love Elder Atticus Hydrick ( great nephew)

Dear family: I am very sad to hear about the passing of my childhood friend. I enjoyed spending a lot of time with Mike from gradeschool to highschool. We hiked, rode bikes, explored the avenues, spent time with friends and family. I remember eating lunch with Mike often on the outside stairs at East high. He was a fantastic person who will be greatly missed. My best to the family during this transition.
