Michael Eugene Hollar, 80, passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family.

Mike was born on August 9, 1945, in Lima, Ohio, to Donald Eugene and Helen Jenese (Case) Hollar. On June 25, 1968, he married Annette Marie Teresa (Recker) Hollar, who preceded him in death on September 30, 2007.

Mike attended Elida High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1965-1968 and in the Army Reserves for an additional 5 years. He had worked at Baldwin-Lima-Hamilton Corp. as a machinist. He was a member of Orioles #173, V.F.W. #1275, Moose Lodge #199, and Ohio AMVETS Post 1. Mike was an avid OSU fan and he liked keeping his lawn perfect. Most of all he loved taking care of his family.

In addition to his parents and beloved wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, Kenny Hollar, and companion, Peggy Hart.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society or Deb’s Dogs.
