Michael "Mike" Howard

Michael "Mike" Howard, age 67, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on March 20, 2026.

Mike was born on July 22, 1958, in Orange County, California, to Roy Howard and Clara Howard, who preceded him in death. We find comfort in knowing they were there to welcome him home.

Mike is survived by his wife, Caryn Howard; his beloved children, Michael Howard Jr(Dana)., Huston Howard (Torie), and Jerden Howard (Lenore); and his cherished grandchildren, Luca Howard and Michael Howard III. He is also survived by his sisters, Carol Ann Dixon (Mike) and Julie Grandstaff, along with many extended family members and dear friends who will miss him deeply.

Mike spent most of his life in Hot Springs, Arkansas, where he attended Hot Springs High School. After graduation, he began a long and dedicated career as an operator with Southwestern Bell, which later became AT&T. While working full-time, Mike pursued higher education at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. He eventually retired from AT&T after many years of faithful service.

In his retirement, Mike continued serving others through his work at Central Church of Christ and through volunteer efforts at Arkansas Children's Hospital. His life was marked by a deep commitment to helping others and living out his faith in meaningful ways.

Mike had a passion for Taekwondo and proudly earned his black belt-a reflection of his discipline and perseverance. He also found great joy in the outdoors, especially boating and camping on Lake Ouachita. Above all, Mike treasured time spent with his family, friends, and grandchildren.

Mike was known for his servant's heart. Whether offering a listening ear, sitting with someone in the hospital, mowing a yard, or fixing a broken appliance, he was always just a phone call away. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering willingness to help others left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.

Mike's passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of those who loved him. He will be remembered for his compassion, strength, humility, and the countless quiet ways he made the world better.
A family-hosted memorial service will be held on Monday, March 30, 2026 at 1:00pm at Central Church of Christ.
