Michael Hresko, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and dedicated educator, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2025, at the age of 93.

Michael proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1952 to 1954 during the Korean Conflict, attaining the rank of Corporal. After his military service, he pursued his passion for education, earning a degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP), completing his studies in just three years.

He began his teaching career at Central Cambria High School in Ebensburg, Pennsylvania, before moving to Maryland, where he was hired at High Point High School in Beltsville. From August 1961 to July 1991, Michael devoted 30 years to shaping young minds and hearts at High Point, where he became a respected and beloved figure in the school community. His steady presence and commitment to learning left a lasting mark on generations of students.

Michael’s deepest joy was his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret, with whom he shared 69 years of love, laughter and devotion. He is also survived by their sons Mike (Kathy), Don (Lisa), and Daniel. He was preceded in death by two of their sons, Jimmy and John David, and is lovingly remembered by John David’s wife, Cindy.

He was a proud grandfather to Donny, Jimmy, Carly (Stephen), Brian (Cory), Katrina, Ashley, and Alexa, and a cherished great-grandfather to Remy, Beckham, Stevie, Lennon, and Kane.

Michael will be remembered for his steady kindness, strong values, and dedication to the people and purposes that mattered most. He was deeply adored by his family and beloved by generations of students whose lives he touched with his gentle strength and quiet wisdom. His presence was a gift, and his legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
