At 6.48 pm on Monday, December 15, 2025, God gained another Angel. Michael (Mike) Lynn Hutchison born December 19, 1961, joined Our Father from Integris Hospice after a series of cerebral strokes and ensuing coma from which he did not recover.
Michael was born on an Army base in El Paso, Texas, and would later become one of the first in his Highschool to register for the draft. He was not chosen for service due to his flat feet.
Michael was a hardworking, loyal, and kind-hearted man whose passions shaped every chapter of his life. As a child, he developed a deep love for animals and spent much of his youth helping his parents' in their fish and bait shop, where he learned responsibility and a strong work ethic at an early age.
Growing up, Michael worked alongside his family again training and showing Irish Wolfhounds, a role he took great pride in and one that reflected his gentle and patient nature.
He was also active in Boy Scouts, achieving the rank of Eagle Scout, an accomplishment he carried with him throughout his life. Michael was also accomplished in belt making and working with leather.
Michael had a lifelong passion for cars. He made a career out of working on them and spent many weekends at the track, racing and sharing his love of engines and speed with friends and family. He was also an avid OU football fan. He enjoyed working on OU players' cars and spending time with them, forming friendships and having conversations over their shared enthusiasm for football and cars. He was known as 'Honda Mike' and had his own automotive shop for many years.
Above all, Michael was a dedicated father. He is survived by his two sons, Brandon L. Hutchison and Eric L. Hutchison (aka Maebh Pruitt), who were his great source of pride. He is also survived by two sisters: Cindy Hutchison Williams and her husband Steve Williams and Daughter Katelyn and son Dylan. Renee Hutchison Candalino and husband Dave Candalino and son Matthew.
Michael is also survived by the love of his life and fiancée, Patti Ann O'Ross Ladd who has remained steadfastly by his side through his debilitating strokes and his journey into hospice care.
Michael was preceded in death by both parents: Billy Gene Hutchison and Carolyn Sue Williams Hutchison. Both sets of grandparents have also preceded him in death.
At home, Michael found joy in gardening and growing plants. He took pride in nurturing life, and watching things flourish under his care. Michael's life was full of passion for animals, cats and dogs, nature, automobiles, and the people whose lives he touched.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered. Michael Lynn Hutchison. 2025 To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of MICHAEL, please visit our floral store.
