Michael Inman Obituary

Michael R. Inman

DANSVILLE - Michael R. Inman, age 70, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2024, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, after a fairly brief illness. His wife Denise and daughter Emma were at his bedside.

Born Dec. 4, 1953, at St. Francis Hospital in Olean, he was the son of Doreen Clark Inman and Richard Inman. He met Denise Fenton, of Rathbone/Addison, in Olean, and they married at the Spencer United Methodist Church in Hornell in 1982. After marriage they resided in Dansville up to the present.

Mike graduated from Olean Senior High School in 1972. He enjoyed catching up with his classmates the past few years at annual class reunions.

He was actively employed at XLI Manufacturing in Rochester, and was a past employee of Alstom in Hornell and Foster Wheeler in Dansville.

Mike's greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his wife Denise and his daughter Emma. To be able to spend time with any family member was very important to him. He liked family vacations, and he especially enjoyed trips to Virginia Beach and to Indiana to visit family. In August, he enjoyed a relaxing vacation at Virginia Beach and a large family gathering in Olean.

Mike also enjoyed working outside around the house, taking Lily (chihuahua) for walks, and having a nap in the recliner with Bella (kitty) laying on his lap. He was a kind man and a hard worker.

He leaves behind his wife, Denise of Dansville; his daughter, Emma Inman of Dansville; a sister, Sharon (David) Inman of Portville; his step-siblings, Debbie (Bill) Martin and Karen Dransfield, both of Mooresville, Ind., and Linda (Joe) Young of Greenwood, Ind.; two sisters-in-law, Michelle Inman of Olean and Viola Horton (David Littlejohn) of Alexander; and several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews. He is also survived by several extended family members of his mother, Doreen Clark Inman, who live in England and Australia.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an identical twin brother, Mark Inman, who passed away in 2004; and a stepmother, Betty Inman.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday (Nov. 15, 2024) at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Road, Olean. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday (Nov. 16, 2024) in the funeral home. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Olean.

Memorials may be made to The Leukemia And Lymphoma Society of WNY, 4043 Maple Road, Suite 105, Amherst, NY 14226, or online at lls.org/wcny.

Mike was a good man, very intelligent and a consummate gentleman. I always enjoyed meeting with him when I came to Hornel.
