Michael James Obituary
Michael James, age 66, passed away on January 18, 2026, at Integris Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Michael was born June 25, 1959 in Kansas City, Kansas. He grew up in Yukon, Oklahoma, where he attended school and proudly graduated from Yukon High School in 1977. He spent over 20 years working at the O'Reilly Distribution Center, where he was known for his dedication and strong work ethic. After many years of hard work, Michael retired in 2024, looking forward to enjoying a slower pace of life.
Michael was preceded in death by his father, Murray James; his mother, Joyce James; his brothers, Murray Lynn James, Monte James, and Mark James; and his longtime partner and dear friend, Kathy Roth, as well as her daughter-in-law Tonya Ewald and granddaughter Rylee Ewald.
He is survived by his brother Matthew James and wife Lisa James; sister-in-law Darla James; nieces Kimberly Grout and husband Nick Grout, Kayla Farmer and husband Josh Farmer, and Katie Starkey and husband Anthony Starkey; nephews Matthew James and wife Lindsey James, and Christopher James and wife Sarah James; and Eric Ewald, who was like a son to him. He is also survived by cousins Lisa Ann James, Annie Hunt, Tonya Sorenson, Cheralynn Sorenson, and many more cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, and uncles.
Michael will be remembered for his loyalty to family, his years of hard work, and the deep bonds he formed with those he loved. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Arby's and great-niece Justice James for their generous support and assistance in helping cover the costs of Michael's memorial
