Michael L. Jenkins, Age 70, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home on September 20, 2023. He was born on September 6, 1953, in Marshall, Michigan. Son of Lewis and Phyllis (Schroll) Jenkins.
Michael led a fulfilling career for 37 years at Kellogg's cereal company in the K-sap department. He was known for his dedication and commitment to his work, earning the respect of his colleagues throughout the years.
Outside of work, Michael had a wide array of hobbies and interests. He found joy in golfing, bowling, and watching sprint car races. He was also a passionate fan of the Detroit Tigers baseball team. His enthusiasm for these activities was infectious and brought him closer to his friends and family.
Michael's loved ones will remember him for his kind heart and unwavering love for his family. He cherished every moment spent with Rita Jenkins, his beloved wife of many years. Together they created a loving home filled with laughter and warmth. Michael was a proud father to Becky (Greg) Cooper of Charlotte and Wendy (John II) Willavize of Battle Creek, whom he loved dearly. His face would light up in the presence of his grandchildren: Kameron Cooper, Trey Willavize, and Gracie Willavize.
In addition to his family members mentioned above, Michael will be missed by his mother Phyllis Jenkins and sister Sharon (Charles) Palmer of Clio, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his father, Lewis Jenkins and sister, Laura Whitcomb.
A visitation will take place on Tuesday September 26, 2023, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Richard A Henry Funeral Home located at 703 Capital Ave SW, Battle Creek, MI 49015. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
Michael leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and dedication to his family, friends, and career. He will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of South Central Michigan. www.henryfuneralhome.org
