Michael Robert Johns

Michael Robert Johns passed away at home on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at the age of 72. He was born on July 15, 1952, in Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Mike had a wonderful sense of humor and used it often, he was kind, generous and loved his family very much. He attended Everett High School and was proud to be a United States Marine (reserve). He worked construction right out of high school and retired from the Michigan State Police Department, Construction Division. He enjoyed social activities including playing cards, volleyball, bowling and loved MSU sports. Mike always valued and appreciated his longtime friends and those at the 40et8 Voiture 946 and he truly loved his Jeep!
Michael is preceded in death by his parents Arlene Ellis, John Ellis and Robert Johns; brother Charles (Charlie) Johns and stepsister Cynthia Acuna. Michael will be dearly missed by his loving family, children, Amy Johns, Brandon Johns (Havilah); grandchildren Keeley, Brandon Jr., Bryler and Brady. Also survived by sister Karin Wierman (Rick), brother Thomas Johns (Debra), sister Jinene Johns (Bobby), stepbrothers John R. Ellis (Roxann) and Jeffrey Ellis and a multitude of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and his many friends.
A special thank you to all of Mike's friends and neighbors that went the extra mile to stay in touch and always appreciated his friendly hello and smiles.
A service and celebration of Michael's life will be held Saturday, October 5th from 1:00-4:00 pm at the 40et8 Voiture 946. In lieu of flowers the family requests any donations be made to the 40et8 Voiture 946 in Lansing, Michigan.
