Michael Neal Jones, born on August 20, 1961, in Del Rio, Texas, passed away peacefully at his residence in Hartsville, Tennessee, on January 12, 2026. He is remembered fondly by those who knew him for his unwavering spirit, passion for life, and dedication to his family.
Mike had a fruitful career as a Bio-Medical Technician at Baptist Health, where he worked diligently for almost 15 years. His commitment to his vocation showcased his strong work ethic and care for others. Beyond his professional life, Mike was an ardent fan of the Dallas Cowboys and NASCAR, often sharing his enthusiasm with friends and family.
He found joy in many hobbies and interests. An avid ham radio operator, Mike cherished engaging conversations with his friends across various states and was ambitiously working on connecting with other countries. His faith in the Lord Jesus Christ was paramount, and he was a dedicated member of Faith is the Victory Church. Mike found solace and happiness in simple pleasures, whether it was cuddling with his beloved fur babies—Goober Duke, BoBo, Luke, and Lacey Lou—watching westerns, enjoying classic shows such as Andy Griffith and MASH, or spending time in the great outdoors fishing, camping, and taking long rides in the countryside. Playing cards with his bonus children brought him immense joy, further solidifying the love he had for his family.
Mike is survived by his devoted wife, Lorraine Jones; sisters Terry Cunningham (Neil) and Vickie Falk (Steve); and his cherished bonus children—Thomas "Hoss" Butler, Tyler "Leroy" Butler, Trevor "Hondo" Butler, Ashley "Sally Mae" Shelton, and Emma "Squirt" Butler. He also leaves behind his dear aunt, Dorothy Pruitt, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins who will carry on his legacy.
Preceding him in death were his mother, Alma Jones; father, Kenneth Jones; and sister, Karen Jones, who welcomed him into their arms once more.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 17th, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home, with burial in Bon Ayr Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM Friday and Saturday morning until time for the service at the funeral home.
