Michael Joseph
1963 - 2025
The beautiful life of Michael Joseph was born February 18th, 1963, to the late (Ellis Shorts) Roscoe Joseph, Sr., and Katie Mae Burks Fisher (David Lynn Fisher). He entered eternal rest on Wednesday, April 2, 2025. A devoted son, brother, father, and friend. Michael approached life with unwavering loyalty and a deep sense of responsibility to those he loved.
Throughout his life, Michael wore many hats both professionally and personally. He leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and countless lives he impacted through his kindness and humor. Though he may no longer walk beside us, his spirit will continue to guide us, reminding us of the power of compassion and the importance of showing up for one another. Michael was educated in the St. Charles Parish School System, where he laid the foundation for his lifelong journey. He went on to become a truck driver, navigating 18-wheelers across the country and seeing the vastness of the world through his travels. But Michael was much more than his work. He was a jack of all trades, always eager to learn something new and lend his skills wherever they were needed. Michael had a gift for making people laugh. His sense of humor was contagious, and he had an uncanny ability to lift the spirits of everyone around him. Beneath his jokes was a sharp intellect. Michael was truly a very intelligent man. Though Michael may no longer be with us, his infectious laughter, and the warmth he brought to every room will be missed more than words can express. If he could say one last thing, it would probably be "You're not too bright."
Michael is survived by his beloved wife, Lynell Smith Joseph, who stood faithfully by his side through life's many seasons. He also leaves behind his children, Raquel, Racheal, William and four treasured grandchildren. He is also survived by his six siblings: Carolyn Joseph, Lyntrelle Martin (Patrick), Roscoe Joseph (Sharon), Roger Joseph (Anjanette), David Joseph and Martin Burks. Also, four uncles Barry, Barney, Shandorf (Peggy) Burks and Clarence Evers and one godchild, Versel Thompson, who held a special place in his heart. He also leaves behind an abundance of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends whose lives he touched with his kindness, laughter, and love.
He was preceded in death by one sister Marilyn Ann Price. Michael cherished his close-knit family and the bond he shared with each of them will never be forgotten.
