Michael Kemper Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home on Dec. 10, 2025.
Michael Allen Kemper, 63, of Paris, passed away on Monday, December 8, 2025, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois.

A graveside service is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Friday, December 12, 2025, at Edgar Cemetery, with Pastor Nate Alexander officiating.

Michael was born in Paris, Illinois, on October 30, 1962, the son of the late Charles Kemper and Charlotte (Robert) Scott Redman. He married Paula Sue Maynard in Paris on August 24, 1990. She passed away on July 20, 2024.

Michael was one of a kind. The kind of guy who could do or fix just about anything. When Michael wasn't tinkering with something, he enjoyed spending his time fishing, playing his lottery tickets, or just simply spending time with his family (especially his grandkids) at a BBQ. And you could always count on Mike to know how to get into a little bit of "good" trouble.

Michael is survived by his children: Courtney (John Marshall) Kemper, Brittany (Lance) DeWeese, Mariah Kemper all of Paris; his grandchildren: Abigail Marshall, Addison Marshall, Elijah Edwards, Macelynn Sue Kemper all of Paris; his siblings: Kathy (Tony) Rhoads of Paris, Brad (Becky) Redman of South Carolina, Johny Kemper of Paris; several nieces and nephews; good friends: Jeremy Sly and Rhonda Brownback.

He is preceded by his wife Paula; son Allen Ray Kemper; and his brothers: Arnie Kemper and Rob Redman.
