Michael H. "Mike" Knapp

Michael H. Knapp, age 86, of Lancaster, Ohio, passed away August 22, 2025, at Fairfield Medical, Lancaster, Ohio.

Mike was born on June 9, 1939, in Albany, New York, to Frederick V. Knapp and Dorothy Jean Knapp. He was a graduate of Delhi University and Bradley University, majoring in Electrical Engineering, and later retired from American Electric Power (previously Columbus and Southern Electric Company). Mike had a true passion for building model ships, flying RC planes, working with HO trains and reading historical naval novels. Along with his hobbies, Mike cherished the adventures he shared RVing with his wife, Jean, as they traveled the country and made lasting memories together.

Surviving are his wife, Lois Jean Knapp, Sons, Michael J Knapp, of Ozark Arkansas, Fritz (Tammy) of Pickney, Michigan, and Shawn Knapp of Playa Del Rey, California and daughters CJ Knapp (Scott Garrett) Parkville, Missouri, and Shannon Willer (Dan) of Milford Center, Ohio and Sons Robert Cherry of Logan, Ohio, and David Cherry of Clinton, Virgina, and Katy (Richard) Dean, of Loraine, Ohio and sister Nancy Griffith of Albany, New York, as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents.

Calling hours were observed 6 – 8 P.M. on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, 27, 2025, at Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio, with Pastor Tim Kelly officiating. He was buried in Floral Hills Memory Gardens, Lancaster, Ohio.

In place of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lung Cancer Research Foundation.
