Michael Robert Kozlow

On March 31, 2024, Michael Robert Kozlow, age 76, of Franklin Park, left our world and was
greeted into heaven. Michael battled a 4.5-year fight with Mesothelioma surpassing the 1.5
years that was given to him.
Mike was born in Jamestown, NY, and grew up in the rural town of Kennedy, NY. He was the
beloved husband of 55 years to Sandra W. Kozlow; father of Brenda (Kevin) Mullay and Susan
(Oskar) Zayas; brother of Dean (Pam) Kozlow and Christine (Greg) Nelson; grandfather of
Jordan, Brady and Ryan Mullay and Gianna Zayas.
Mike was raised to be a hard-working, respectful, and dedicated man. He started his career as
a draftsman for the Carborundum Company where he climbed the ladder to become a Ceramic
Engineer and a sales expert in the industry of ceramic fiber insulation. He devoted 40 years and
retired from the Unifrax Corporation in 2010. In 2011, he missed his career and friends so much
that he returned to work; retiring for good in 2019 from the Chiz Bros. Company.
Mike was an avid outdoorsman who loved and respected nature. He spent his pastime hunting,
fishing, and golfing and was an active and successful trap shooter. He passed his passions on
to his grandchildren, especially the boys. You could always see him puttering around the yard or
sitting outside taking in all the animals that would migrate past him. Anybody who knew him
knows he ALWAYS carried; a knife, toothpick, comb, and nail clippers in his pocket at all times.
It was said, "Mike was a great guy and once you met him you would never forget him".
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 8th, at the North Side Sportsmen's Association in
Warrendale, PA. 325 Mt Pleasant Rd, Warrendale, PA 15086. Notice of time later.
