Michael E. Krezinski

Michael Everett Krezinski, 48, of Elmwood Park, Illinois, passed away peacefully at home on January 30, 2026, surrounded by love.

Mike was born in Bristol, Connecticut, and grew up in Peabody, Massachusetts. He later made his home in Elmwood Park, Illinois, where he built a life centered on family, loyalty, and quiet strength.

Mike was a devoted husband to his wife, Christina, and a proud and loving father to his son, Mikey. They were his greatest joy and his highest priority in everything he did.

He is survived by his wife, Christina; his son, Mikey; his parents, Michael and Marianne Krezinski; his brother/cousin, Jesse Skirvin and his wife Alex; and a wide circle of extended family whom he loved deeply. This includes his mother-in-law Millie Cheronis and her partner Doug Nelson, brothers-in-law Michael Cheronis and his wife Amy, and their children Chloe, Sadie, and Truman; and Damon Cheronis and his wife Anne, and their children Madeleine, Lauren, Mary and Sam.

From a young age, Mike excelled in athletics and loved competition. He participated in basketball, lacrosse, shot put, and later found his true passion in weightlifting. He competed in multiple deadlift and bench press competitions throughout the Northeast, bringing the same discipline, determination, and focus to training that he brought to life. Outside the gym, Mike was a lifelong Boston sports fan, proudly supporting the Red Sox, Patriots, and Celtics.

Known for his steady presence and genuine nature, Mike was someone people could count on. He listened without judgment, showed up without hesitation, and protected the people he loved fiercely. His strength was quiet, his loyalty unwavering, and his love deeply felt.

Mike's life was also marked by an extraordinary outpouring of support from family, friends, and community. The care, generosity, and love shown to Mike, Christina, and Mikey during his illness was a testament to the impact he had on everyone who knew him. While ALS was part of his journey, Mike did not let it define him, he remained himself, focused on his family, his relationships, and the people he loved.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 4th, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Salerno's Galewood Chapels in Chicago, Illinois. A Catholic Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, February 5th, at 1:00 PM at St. Vincent Ferrer Parish in River Forest, Illinois.

Michael Everett Krezinski will be remembered as a devoted husband and father, a loyal family member, a brother in every way that mattered, and a man whose presence made others feel safe, supported, and seen. His legacy lives on through the people he loved and the lives he touched.
