Michael “Salty” Gerald Kukoleck, 78 of Diana, WV passed away on Monday, February 3, 2025 at his home. He was born June 22, 1946 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Adam and Marie Lane Kukoleck.
He was a proud United States Marine, serving in Vietnam. After retiring from the Marines, he returned to his hometown of Cleveland where he became a Cleveland, Ohio Police Officer. He also became a Fireman for the Cleveland Heights Fire Department. He was Baptist by faith.
After retiring from law enforcement, Mike moved to a farm in Birch River where he and his sons built their home. He enjoyed fishing and breeding and training rottweilers. He also trained K9’s for his fellow police officers after his retirement. He loved raising his two sons and was very proud of his grandsons, especially for carrying on his legacy serving in the military.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Donna Morris Kukoleck. Mike is survived by his sons: Adam (Wendy) Kukoleck and David Michael (Carla) Kukoleck; grandchildren: Josiah David Kukoleck and Jedediah Michael Kukoleck; sister Sharon (Ken) Rice; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, one great-great-niece; and many extended family and friends to mourn his passing.
In keeping with Mike’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held at this time. A time of gathering will take place locally in West Virginia, for more information call David at 918-852-6665 or Adam at 727-686-9057.
