Michael Labbe

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Labbe, aged 63, of Norway, Maine. Michael left us peacefully on February 4, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love.
Born to Bob and Anita Labbe, Michael was raised in Sanford and graduated from Sanford High School. On October 16th 1987 he married his loving wife, Patricia (Gendron) Labbe. They were married for a wonderful 36 years.
Michael was a man of many talents. A skilled carpenter and handyman, he had an enduring passion for business and took great pride in his projects. Michael was an extremely hard worker and enjoyed thought provoking conversations. However, it was his role as a devoted husband to Patricia, a loving father to his sons, Ben and Aaron, and friend to many, that was a true testament to Michael's good character.
Those who knew Michael will remember him as a true "character" - bright, outgoing, and always ready to lighten the mood. He had a passion for music, often playing his guitar and singing, and sharing this gift with friends and family. Michael accomplished his dream of living off the grid and closer to nature when he moved to Norway, Maine in February of 2020.
Michael's legacy is in the love he shared and the lives he enriched. He will be dearly missed by his wife, sons, and the extended family of relatives and friends who were fortunate to have been touched by his life.
Michael's journey through life was marked by the joy he found in simple pleasures, the dedication he showed to his craft, and the love he had for his family. As we say goodbye, we also say thank you - for the laughter, the music, and the countless memories. Rest in peace, Michael; your legacy will live on in the hearts of all who love you.
Michael was predeceased by his parents and sister, Helen Bouchard.
Michael is survived by his devoted wife, Patricia; his sons, Benjamin and his fiancée Maya Iwasaki of Chicago, Illinois and Aaron Labbe; his sisters, Claire Brown and Diane Gilpatrick, both of Sanford, Maine; his brother, Paul Labbe and his companion, Lisa, also of Sanford, Maine; and his brother, Daniel Labbe and his wife, Denise, of Sanford, Maine; and his mother in-law Adrienne Gendron of Biddeford, Maine. Michael was also survived by aunts, in-laws, cousins, and many nieces and nephews.
A social and celebration of Michael's life will be held on Friday, February 9, from 5 to 9 p.m. at The Elks Lodge in Sanford. Michael's services will be held at Hope Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, February 13, between 5 and 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Habitat for Humanity. https://www.habitat.org/
