Michael "Hog Man, Mikey" William Leach passed away on January 5th, 2024, in
Ventura, California, at the age of 48. He was born on October 7, 1975, in
Portland, Oregon. Michael was a beloved son, brother, friend, father, and loving husband. He grew up in a small potato farm town in
Tulelake, CA, before embarking on a distinguished 22-year career in the U.S Navy, serving in various locations around the world.
Michael was a U.S Navy Veteran who proudly served from 2011 to 2022. He excelled as an AE1 Aviation Electricians Mate and Avionics Technician at V2X, where he also worked in Quality Assurance. Mikey was a dedicated serviceman who deployed to Iraq, Japan, Bahrain, and numerous locations within the United States.
In his civilian life, Michael was working towards a Masters degree in history to pursue a career as a teacher, specializing in his area of expertise. He had a passion for history, particularly Native American heritage, and was a devoted fan of the Bangels football team. Michael cherished his family and friends, finding joy in spending time with them and supporting his children, Triston, Bayia, and Kashus.
Michael was survived by his spouse, Brittney Leach, his mother Janie Arce, brothers George and Jessie, and sisters Jessica and Irene. He was preceded in death by his father, Michael William Leach Sr.
Outside of his professional and family life, Michael indulged in his hobbies, which included a love for classic cars, attending car shows, and working on restoring his collection of classic cars. He enjoyed outdoor activities such as watching his children play sports, hiking, camping, and riding his Harley Davidson on back roads for hours on end. Michael found solace in the cold ocean waters and basking in the sun on the beach.
A funeral service and ceremony will be held at Unger Funeral Chapel, 190 Railroad Ave,
Mt. Angel, OR 97362
Friday April 5th, 2024, at 10:00 a.m.
Followed by a closed immediate family only reception.
On Saturday April 6th, 2024 there will be a Potluck Celebration of life @10:00am

Michael will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of those blessed to have crossed paths with him. Until we meet again, forever loved.
