Michael Burton Levitt

Michael Burton Levitt, of Owings Mills, Maryland, passed away on Thursday, November 20th, 2025, at the age of 79. He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Karis Levitt (nee Metzger); cherished son, Adam P. Levitt; devoted sister, Abbe Levitt (Michael) Silver; adored granddaughter, Carsyn Leigh Levitt; loving brothers and sister-in-law, Mirv Metzger, Ellen Metzger and Richard (Janet) Metzger; treasured nieces and nephews, Karis North, Martha (Chris) Gaudio, Korie (Jarrod) Snyder, Jennifer (Trent) Shaw, Paula (Joe) Mancino, Rachel (Adam) Silver and Lucy (Brad) Silver; loyal former daughter-in-law, Michelle May; adored godson, Rob Mitchell; his amazing caregiver, Karen Clavon; and many wonderful friends. Michael was predeceased by his dear parents, Geraldine and Leroy Levitt.

Michael was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and uncle, and he cherished the friendships he built throughout his life. He treated his clients and employees like family, always going out of his way to ensure they had everything they needed. He loved scuba diving and exploring different islands, and he was happiest with his feet in the sand and the ocean nearby. He treasured talking history with his granddaughter, though everyone knew to brace themselves once the war stories started! Michael enjoyed nights out at dinner or the movies, and every birthday meant steamed crabs. He could pick a crab cleaner than anyone, leaving not a flake behind. He adored all his dogs, especially his current companion, Finley. He also took great joy in the beautiful flowers Karis arranged throughout their home, inside and out. One of his favorite touches was her creative transformation of their unusable grill into a stunning flower cart, a perfect reflection of the beauty and love they shared. To say he will be dearly missed is an understatement, but his love and legacy will continue on through everyone who got the honor of knowing him. May his memory always be a blessing.
