Send FlowersMETROPOLIS, Ill. - Michael Lewis, 66, of Metropolis, passed away at 1:35 a.m. Friday, Jan. 2, 2026, at Baptist Health Paducah.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, at Metropolis Memorial Gardens with Rev. Matt Snell officiating.
Michael worked for Allied Chemical for several years and was a member of Upper Salem Baptist Church.
Michael is survived by his wife of 31-plus years, Phyllis Lewis; mother, Janice Davis (David); daughters, Angella Stubblefield (Michael) and Savanna Cunningham (Wesley); sons, Randy Stowers (Jenna), Phillip Stowers (Sarah), and Brandon Stowers (Dakota); 17 grandchildren, Jordan, Jayce, Madison, Ava, Hayley, Connor, Lily, Arya, Elsie, Charlotte, Graycen, Ryan, Aubrey, Aidan, Maddie, Willow, and Emma; brother, Jeffery Lewis; half brothers, James Lewis, and Brett Lewis; and several nieces and nephews.
Michael was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Dale Lewis; grandparents, Lester "Shine" and Agnes Lewis and Owen and Jessie Teasley.
Memorials may be made in Michael's name to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1640, Hagerstown, MD 21741. Memo: Restrict to IL service area.
Pallbearers will be Randy Stowers, Phillip Stowers, Brandon Stowers, Mike Stubblefield, Wesley Cunningham, and Jayce Cunningham.
