Michael Lexow Obituary

Michael A. Lexow
Troy - Michael A. Lexow, age 66 of Troy, IL, born February 24, 1958, in Alton, IL, peacefully passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at his residence surrounded by family.
Michael had an associate's degree in aviation maintenance and applied sciences. He worked for Northwest Airlines as an aviation maintenance/avionics technician for 23 years. It was here that he would prosper in his career while forming friendships and memories that would last a lifetime. Later he worked for Boeing as a training device technician for the AH-64 Apache. He proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1976 - 1979 working on the Boeing B-52 Bomber.
He was a staunch believer of the Catholic faith and a devoted member of the Basilica of Saint Louis Catholic Church. Michael was a kind and generous soul who got such enjoyment from helping others; for him no task was too big or too small.
He was preceded in death by his father, Don E. Lexow.
Surviving is his beloved wife, Peggy (nee Blackketter) Lexow, whom he married May 1, 1981; his mother, Shirley (nee Graham) Lexow; two sons, Christopher and Nathan Lexow, both of Troy, IL; three sisters, Donna Ahlmeyer, of Midway, IL, Diane (Chuck) Patterson, of Edwardsville, IL, and Tami (Jeff) Pile, of East Alton, IL; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Michael's wishes were to be cremated, and a Celebration of Life will be held at the Basilica of Saint Louis on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 11 a.m.
Burial with military honors will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN.
Memorials are suggested to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network or to The Old Cathedral and will be received at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062
Your love of aviation may have taken you to new heights, but your place in our hearts will remain grounded forever.

I´m shocked and saddened to learn of Mikes passing. We both worked at Northwest Airlines in Minneapolis and St.Louis. We were good friends but lost contact in later years. My heart felt condolences go out to Peggy and family.

In sympathy, Mike Snyder
