Michael Scott Lindsey

February 26, 1962 – March 7, 2026

Michael Scott Lindsey, 64, passed away on March 7, 2026. Mike was born on February 26, 1962, in Dubuque, Iowa, to Carl James Lindsey, Sr. and Laura Mae Schueller.

Mike married the love of his life, Cheryl, on November 27, 2004, beginning a lifelong partnership filled with love, laughter, and devotion. Of all the things Mike enjoyed in life, spending time with Cheryl was his greatest joy.

Mike had a deep love for the beach and the peacefulness it brought to his soul. He cherished the simple moments-from watching the sunrise while fishing in the ocean to sitting around bonfires on the beach with friends. Those moments brought him happiness and a sense of calm that he treasured.

He was known as a true jack of all trades-there wasn't much Mike couldn't fix. Whether it was a project around the house, helping a friend, or figuring out how to repair something others had given up on, Mike always found a way. He was also an avid fisherman and had a special place in his heart for his dogs.

Mike was a proud father and grandfather who loved his family deeply. He is survived by his children: Karla Lindsey and fiancé Russell, Taylor Lindsey and wife Taylor, Candice Hughes and husband Ryan, and Travis Smith and partner Anna. He also leaves behind ten beloved grandchildren: Landon Knapp, Carter Knapp, Gabe Lindsey, Brandon Cameron, Callie Wren, Avery Hughes, Rylynn Hughes, Cash Hughes, Benjamin Hughes, and Ezra Smith.

He is also survived by his sister, Marie Stump and husband Roy; his brothers Carl James "Jim" Lindsey, Jr. and wife Cindy, Charles "Chuck" Edward Lindsey and wife Kelly, and William "Bill" Frances Lindsey; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and close friends who will continue to cherish the many memories they shared with him.

Mike will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, his willingness to help others, and the love he had for his family. His presence, wisdom, and humor will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Though he is gone, his love, laughter, and the memories he created will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew him.
