Michael N. Long, 65, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away in his home on February 12, 2026, of natural causes.

Michael was born in Danville, Illinois, in 1960. He was the oldest of four children, born to William N. Long and M. Dorothy (Green) Way. He dedicated more than 35 years of service as a custodian in the historic neighborhood of Woodruff Place, Indianapolis, caring for the property of a prominent local family. He took pride in his work and was known for his reliability, steady presence, and quiet dedication.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, William N. Long; his mother, M. Dorothy (Green) Way; and his sisters, Christine D. Allanson and Jennifer A. Harris.

He is survived by his sister, Elizabeth E. Yedla, along with extended family and friends who will remember him for his gentle nature, quirky sense of humor, and his ability to strike up a conversation with just about anyone.

Visitation will be held at Oakley-Hammond Funeral Home, 5342 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis, on February 22, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. At the conclusion of visitation, a brief closing service will be shared by family members in memory of Michael.
