Michael Lostocco Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home - Wethersfield on Jan. 16, 2026.
Michael J. Lostocco, 66, of West Haven, Connecticut, died on January 15, 2026. He was born in Hartford and grew up in Old Wethersfield. He leaves his three sisters, Susan Nadathur of Lajas, Puerto Rico, Lisa Musco and her husband Steve of Simsbury and Judy Rowley of Newtown. He also leaves a brother, Bill Lostocco and his wife Elaine of Haddam. Michael is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncle and friends. He was extremely proud of, and had a special place in his heart, for his nieces Sita and Lindsey and nephew Alex, who loved and supported him unconditionally throughout their entire lives. He will be especially missed by his partner Irva Pierre-Louis. Michael was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Louise Lostocco, who were always there for him, and his beloved brother-in-law, Govind Nadathur.

Michael had a love of history, antiques, and collectible clocks and watches, which he was introduced to by his father at a young age. Many hours were spent together restoring and fixing antique timepieces and attending trade shows. Michael appreciated the beauty and intricate workings of watches, and graduated from Bowman Technical School in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, one of the last watchmaking schools in the country. His deep understanding of horology allowed him to become skilled at the craft he was so passionate about. Michael was employed by several Hartford-area jewelry stores in the service and sales departments. He was also proud to be a lifetime member of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors, an organization dedicated to 'the preservation of time', and a past member of the Wethersfield Historical Society.

Michael had a compassionate heart and generous spirit. He would always send a thank you note for any act of kindness he received, no matter how small. If he was not sending a written note, it would be a text or phone call, simply to 'say hello'. He valued relationships and those closest to him. Michael enjoyed a good Italian meal, sharing lunch at Jerri's in West Haven, listening to classic rock, day tripping throughout New England, and had a soft spot for animals of all kinds - especially any rescue dog. He also appreciated the delicate beauty of butterflies.

Despite having his own challenges in life, Michael would give away his last dime if it helped someone in need. He spent the last years of his life as a dedicated volunteer at the Community Kitchen at The First Congregational Church of West Haven, where he never missed a day to provide food and fellowship for those in need. Quincy, Cathy and the rest of the team at the Church were very special to Michael and he felt blessed to have their love and friendship in his life.

Michael carried this message in his wallet at all times: " Time goes by so fast, people go in and out of your life. You must never miss the opportunity to tell these people how much they mean to you. "

Sincere thanks to his team of doctors and nurses at Smilow Cancer Hospital for the professional, compassionate and dignified care they gave Michael throughout his cancer journey. Michael was always grateful for their dedication and kindness.

There will be a private service at The Village Cemetery, Old Wethersfield, at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.

Donations, in Michael's name, can be made to The First Congregational Church of West Haven, 1 Church Street, West Haven, CT 06516.
