Michael Ernst Maendl passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 7:01 PM, surrounded by his family. He left this world gently and without pain. Michael was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose life was defined by integrity, craftsmanship, quiet strength, and a deep love for his family. He lived nearly a century, witnessing and contributing to a world of tremendous change, and he approached life with humility, curiosity, and a steady sense of purpose. Throughout his life, Michael was known for his work ethic, his skill with his hands, and his pride in building things that lasted. He believed in doing things the right way, taking care of people, and showing up for those who mattered. To his family, he was a constant source of guidance, support, and unconditional love. Michael's presence will be deeply missed, but his values, stories, and example live on through the many lives he touched.
A memorial service celebrating Michael's life will be held on Friday January 9th at 11:00am at St. Anthony of Paua Church Novato, California, 2026.Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and honor a life well lived at a reception in the church hall.
A private burial service will take place on Monday, January 12, 2026 at Valley Memorial Park Cemetery and Funeral Home, Novato California.
Because the holidays are a busy and an emotional time for many families, services are being held after the New Year to allow loved ones the opportunity to attend without additional travel or holiday pressures. Further details will be shared as arrangements are finalized.
