I think I knew Mike before I knew Michelle and Denise. I remember him from our corner store. I was a little kid.. side-by-side with my best friend Tina Acello we would cross the street to get a pickle from Mike. He would cut it in half for us ,one piece for me and one piece for Tina, and while we crossed the street on our own... Mike felt totally responsible for crossing us back home safely. I remember it like it was yesterday. I have many memories of him after that but that one just sticks to my ribs.
