I had the distinct pleasure of knowing Mike through my career at AT&T. He and I worked together in AT&T and then after I joined TechM, he was my AT&T client. I enjoyed hearing his stories about working the night shift at Cincinnati Bell when he began his career. Mike always strove for integrity in all that he did, and he was a wonderful person to work with.
But where we connected was through his love of sports and the University of Kentucky. I have fond memories of our many discussions about UK basketball and when he and I went to the SEC tournament to see the Cats, and I recall one afternoon when we took an extended lunch hour to watch the Cats at Taco Mac!
When I think of Mike, I think of his love for Nina and his daughters and the special love that he did for his three grandsons. He would share their activities and stories. The one I loved the most was when Henry rode a horse for the first time and said to his grandfather, "This is the real deal!" Mike was the real deal in all aspects of his life, and I cannot imagine how much you miss him.
Of course he loved the horses. He had forgotten more about horses and horse racing than most people would ever know. If there are horse stalls in heaven, I can see Mike with his pitchfork feeding the horses and mucking the stalls.
Love you brother and I will see you again on the other side!

Mike was my boss at at&t. Once he was talking with me and asked me to take care of a problem at which point I did a task that made it worse. As I started to resolve the issue, Mike just went back to his desk. Later he tells me he knew he´d be of no use standing behind me and he let me resolve the issue as he knew I would. . I thought that showed his integrity and why he was a such good boss. I was truly sad to hear this news. May he rest in peace
