Michael T. McDonough, of Canton passed away peacefully on November 17, 2025, at the age of 63, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on February 9, 1962, in Boston, MA, Michael was a devoted son, husband, father, brother, and friend who left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him.
Raised in the bustling neighborhood of Dorchester, Michael attended local Boston schools where he laid the foundation for his future successes. After his formative years, he moved to Quincy before finally settling down in Canton in 2009, where he would live out his days surrounded by family, friends, and the community he adored. Michael was the beloved son of Winifred McDonough of Bourne and the late William McDonough. He was the loving husband of Monica McDonough, with whom he shared a bond for 30 years that was a testament to unwavering love and partnership. Together, they raised a beautiful family, including their children: Michael of Canton, Madeline, and her fiancé Joseph Silveira, of East Weymouth, Megan of South Boston, Matthew of Canton, Mark of Canton, and Melanie of Canton. His role as a father was one he cherished deeply, and his guidance and love will continue to live on in his children.
Michael was also a supportive brother, leaving behind siblings Moe Harrison of Oregon, Patricia McDonough of California, William McDonough of Japan, Winnie Mallesi of Maryland, James McDonough of Hanover, Donna Terrell of Whitman, Kevin McDonough of Utah, Dorothy McDonough of Bourne, and Margaret Farrell of Carver. He was preceded in death by his sister Denise McDonough. His extended family included his beloved pets, Milo and Enzo, who were constant companions and brought joy to his everyday life.
A true entrepreneur at heart, Michael was the proud owner of It's 2Cool in Canton, which he opened in 1999. His business was not just a source of livelihood; it was a hub of joy and entertainment for the community. His dedication to his work was unparalleled, and he was often described as being married to his job. Despite this, he always ensured that his family was his top priority, and he never missed an opportunity to be involved in their lives.
Michael's enthusiasm for the New England Patriots was infectious, and game days were always a special occasion in the McDonough household. However, what so many will remember most were the legendary Super Bowl parties hosted at It's 2Cool.
In the hearts of those who knew him, Michael T. McDonough will be remembered as a beacon of dedication, warmth and kindness. Michael's legacy is one of love, commitment to family and an unwavering spirit of entrepreneurship.
