Michael David McGee, born January 18, 1946, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2026, with his daughter by his side. David was preceded in death by his parents, Richard C. McGee and Frances A. McGee, his first wife, Connie F. Sellers and his second wife, Jacqueline R. McGee. He leaves behind two sisters, Carol A. Martinosky and Patricia McGee Laky and a brother, Richard F. McGee (Nancy), as well as his daughter, Sarah F. Brewer (John) and grandson, Daniel A. McNabb. Family was very important to Dave and he maintained a close relationship with his nieces and nephews. For several years, he would host a McGee Family Reunion where family from all over would gather.
David was born in Lorain, OH and graduated from Admiral King High School in 1964. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War, from 1965-1967. He was part of the 101st airborne, Screaming Eagles. After serving in the military, Dave went on to become an electrician, being an active member of the IBEW Local 129. During his 50 years with the Union, he served as Recording Secretary for several years and later as President. Dave also found enjoyment in freefall skydiving and participated in skydiving formations. After retirement, he enjoyed traveling with his wife, Jackie, taking cruises on the Mediterranean and in Alaska, or going to Vegas. They also enjoyed relaxing together at their home in Vermilion. Anyone who knew him, knows his dry sense of humor, his smirk, his furrowing eyebrows and if you were lucky enough, his smile. Dave was proud to have served his country, maintaining involvement with both the VFW and AmVets, as well as continuing to be involved with the local Union. Above all, he was most proud of being a daddy to his daughter, Sarah. He was an amazing man, a jack of all trades and he will be sorely missed by family and friends.
