Michael P. "Mike" McLaughlin, age 81, of Pottstown, PA, passed away on November 19, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Philadelphia, PA in 1943, he was the son of the late John and Anne (née Mullen) McLaughlin. He was originally from West Philadelphia, Transfiguration Parish. Michael was a 1961 graduate of West Catholic High School. He was the past Vice President of American Capital Corp, Valley Forge, PA. His last position was the Registered Principle of FSC Securities Corp.
He leaves behind many Registered Reps that he worked in conjunction with. Michael was highly respected by his peers. He was a founding member of St. Elizabeth Church, Chester Springs, PA. Michael was an avid reader and his favorite musicians to listen to were Marty Robbins, Linda Ronstadt, and John Denver. He enjoyed travelling, especially to the American Southwest. A skilled mechanic, Michael could fix anything around the house. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Michael was the beloved husband of Regina (née Craig) McLaughlin, with whom he shared 61 years of marriage; loving father of Regina Williams (Peter), Maureen McLaughlin, Patricia Barkasi (Paul), Michael Patrick McLaughlin, and Sean Craig McLaughlin; caring grandfather of Sean Kenneth Haas, Paul Nicholas Barkasi, Brett Michael Barkasi, and Brenna Nichole Barkasi; dear brother of John, Ph.D. (the late Peggy); predeceased by his siblings, James (the late Nancy), and Joseph, Ph.D. (surviving wife, Jeanne Rosenthal); also survived by 48 loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation 7:00-9:00 PM Monday, November 25, 2024 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 43 W. Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown, PA 19335, 610-269-3080, and 9:45-10:45 AM Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Church, 110 Saint Elizabeth Drive, Chester Springs, PA 19425, followed by his Funeral Mass at 11 AM.
