Mike was born February 11, 1964, in Rapid City, South Dakota, to Clarence Menard Jr. and Muriel Elenora Bowker Menard. Mike made his journey to the spirit world on October 20, 2025, at his home, in Shelley, Idaho.
Mike is survived by his brothers, Jerry Menard of Springfield, SD, Jasen Jackson and his family, Lina, Malia, Adonis, Ahmya, Oliver “Ollie,” August “Augie,” Lucas, Armani “Mani,” Evan, Edith, Edris, and Elouise of Rapid City, SD; sisters, Maria and her family, Deanna, Nikki, Katelynn, Wambli, Chaumbrey Romero, Phoenix, and Sedona Hereford, Wawokia, Trevor, Aaliyah, Raydon from Fort Washaki, WY, Sage, Zylar, Jaceon, Journey, Haiyley from Rapid City, SD, Tracy, Terrance, and Takodah of Minnesota, Michelle and brother-in-law, Mike Paver, and family, Desiree, Tylor (Kristi), Autumn, Payten, Jhett, Kayden, Mikey, Abel “Sonny,” Mykayla, Baylee, Issac, and one coming to a hospital near you, of Sturgis and Rapid City, SD, and Iva Hope and family, Bill, Lindsay, Dillon, Jarrett, Jerricka, Brixtynn, Brynlee of Idaho Falls, ID.
Mike was born and raised in Rapid City, South Dakota, and moved to Wyoming as a teen, eventually living with his sister, Hope, in Idaho. Mike attended Black Hills Workshop due to a learning disability at a young age. He also attended Joshua D. Smith Foundation and the Development Workshop. He also worked for Farr’s Candy, which he really enjoyed. Mike was a good jokester and loved going out in the community with his peers from Joshua D. Smith. He loved saving cans and drinking Monster Energy drinks, and he always looked forward to trips to South Dakota and Wyoming with his sister, Hope, and her grandkids. Mike will truly be missed.
Mike is preceded in death by his father, Clarence Menard Jr.; mother, Murial Bowker Menard; brother, Christopher Menard; nephew, Sheyenne Joe Menard; uncles, Mike Menard, Jimmy Menard, Stanley Menard, Bill Menard, and Cornell Menard Sr.; aunties, Mert Howard, Joyce Pease, Nancy Garreau, Lorraine Downing, and Martina Ledeaux; and cousins, Marc Menard, Allen Downing, and Gibson Garreau.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, November 7, 2025, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue. The family will visit with friends from 1-1:45 p.m. prior to services.
