Sun Prairie - Michael "Mike" L. Manville, passed away peacefully at his home on November 15, 2025. He was 73 years old.
He was born on August 26, 1952, in Madison, WI, the son of the late Lawrence and Agnes (Schenck) Manville.
In 1973, Mike married the love of his life, Cynthia "Cindie" Gove, and together they raised two daughters, Heather and Melissa. For 53 years Mike and Cindie lived in the greater Madison area and enjoyed spending time with family and friends either on the boat or in the pool.
Mike proudly worked at Trachte Building Systems for nearly 40 years, a family tradition started by his father who worked there for 51 years and continued by his son-in-law and grandson working there today.
A lover of music, Mike enjoyed taking his family to concerts and music festivals. Sharing his love of music with his grandchildren was a passion and could spend endless hours around the fire pit talking about music surprising them with his knowledge of not only music from his generation but contemporary music as well.
Mike loved following Wisconsin sports and enjoyed taking family members to Packers, Badgers, Brewers and Bucks games. He always made each trip to a sporting event a memorable experience for all attending.
Mike is survived by his wife Cindie of 53 years. His daughters: Heather (Corey) Gardner and Melissa (Justin) Powley both of Sun Prairie. Grandchildren: Nicholas, Christopher, McKenzie (Ryan), and Michael. His siblings: Gerry (Mary) Manville, Jane (Robert) De Rosia, Rebecca (Jeff) Ross and Mark (Rocio) Manville. Mike is further survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
The family wishes to thank the staff at St. Mary's and Agrace for their support during this difficult time.
Per Mike's wishes there will not be a funeral service planned.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the Sun Prairie Library in his name.
