Michael Moak Obituary
He was born on September 21, 1955 in Christopher, Illinois and was the son of the late Bryan William Moak and Nolalee Horsley Moak Thomas.
Mike attended Frankfort High School and then went on to proudly serve in the United States Navy. He enjoyed working on crossword puzzles and feeding the squirrels.
On August 16, 1986, he married Sheri Wichael Moak, who survives.
Surviving family members in addition to his wife include his mother-in-law, Gerry Wichael; sister-in-law, Kay Wichael; brothers, Dennis Moak and wife, Pam and Paul Moak and wife, LouAnn; a son, Andy Costa; numerous nieces and nephews, several great-nieces and nephews and four grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Bryan "Skip" Moak and Bobby Ray Moak; nephew, Timothy "Tim" Moak and four furry companions, Dimitri, Norman, Barney and Betty.
A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg.
In keeping with Mike's wishes, his body was donated to science with the Virginia Anatomical Program and cremation will follow.
Memorial contributions can be made in Mike's name to the , 2170 Old Furnace Rd, Harrisonburg, VA 22802.
